In the past, Apartment List relied heavily on static text-based ads for paid media. They were looking to broaden their marketing strategy by incorporating video to re-engage potential renters, increase sign-ups, and boost overall brand awareness. We worked together to develop a direct-response video campaign that positions Apartment List as the go-to renting solution for ready-to-move city-dwellers. Introducing, Apartment List - Your Rental Matchmaker.
When creating content for social, the platform and content should be inextricably linked. When users scroll through their feeds, your content needs to both stand out and fit in. We launched across paid media channels (creating multiple cuts for YouTube and Paid Social), with the proper captions, aspect ratios, and thumbnails optimized per platform.
Our creative direction for Your Rental Matchmaker emphasized dynamic, impactful kinetic typography, and selfie-style stock video that looked like native UGC. We sought inspiration not only from commercial brands, but also from TikTok trends. Techniques like practical transitions and quick jump cuts informed our social-first editing style.
