What’s next for all these empty spaces?
The way we live and work has changed. Vacant office buildings are on the rise and Hickok Cole is exploring the future of what’s next for all these empty spaces. In this 4-video series, we highlight some possible solutions—whether it’s converting them into residential units, upgrading dated buildings, re-purposing spaces, or incorporating a brand story.
Putting the experts front and center
Hickok Cole knows that there isn’t a single answer to the empty office space question. Each video features a specialized in-house expert, speaking direct-to-camera about their unique POV and approach to these issues. Participants were prepped in for a quick correspondant-style conversation using a single camera setup in their own space.
Creating the formula
While each video focuses on a different solution, we still wanted them to feel like a cohesive series. We used color-coding to differentiate each solution within a consistent format. Each video has the same ingredients: open with a bold statement, pose the question “What’s Next?”, feature Hickok Cole’s in-house experts, highlight expertise, and then get the audience thinking with a final CTA.
Working with the Motiio team was a game-changing experience. Hickok Cole is a firm that holds expertise in storytelling through design, so working with expert storytellers of another universe was eye-opening and inspiring. Tom, Maggie, and Shelley are absolute joys to work with as well as incredibly talented designers—we are incredibly grateful for their obvious care for our work and the videos we created together.
